Joining the Scheme
The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is available to all employees in Local Government, or in other organisations that have chosen to participate in it.
To be brought into the Scheme automatically, you must work for a scheme Employer, have a contract of employment of 3 months or more and be under age 75.
Alternatively, if you have a contract of less than 3 months, you will not be brought into the Scheme automatically but you will have the option to join.
Having been brought into the Scheme or if you decide to opt in, you have the right to opt out by completing an Opting Out Declaration and returning it to your Employer.
If you wish to opt in to the Scheme, please complete the Joiner forms and return to your Employer.
